Who is ButtonStar.org and what do you do?

ButtonStar.org is owned by Color Star, a graphic arts company located just outside Kansas City, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. We started making sports buttons in 1984. Color Star produces graphics for numerous items, such as t-shirts, mugs, mouse pads, calendars, and more.

What size buttons do you produce?

Presently, ButtonStar.org produces two sizes: 2.25" and 3" round buttons. Normally, we use the 3" button for personalization and the 2.25" button for other purposes. We have made other sizes in the past, but generally found other sizes to have disadvantages. Buttons smaller than 2.25" are less likely to be noticed and often difficult or impossible to read. Buttons larger than 3" are considered gaudy by many and their weight could cause them to damage clothing. However, if a general use for buttons of a different size or shape should become apparent, we will strongly consider putting them into production.

How durable are ButtonStar.org buttons?

We're not lying when we say no one makes higher quality buttons than ButtonStar.org. Because of our production process and the equipment we use, our buttons are perfect for normal use, but have often been saved as keepsakes due to their longevity. Please see the About Our Quality section for more details.

What if I want to use my own graphics, mascot, or specific colors?

No problems! Usually there are no concerns. However, if you have an unusual mascot or a specific graphic you want for your mascot, you will need to email, fax, or snail-mail it to us. The proof or sample button usually overcomes any concerns you may have. In most cases artwork is free of charge. We have hundreds of stock mascots and can reproduce millions of different colors.

How do I place an order for sample buttons or proofs?

In almost every case we will send you a sample email design and/or sample buttons per your request. Placing an order for sample buttons is easy. After you have selected a button design, just call, fax, or email us using our contact information from the Contact Us section. We will follow up with you ASAP. Per your request, we will produce a sample button or proof for your review. While we proofread created designs, it is your responsibility to proofread layouts or samples. We guarantee our sample layouts or buttons to match your final order.

How will my order be shipped to me?

If you are ordering buttons and are not a partner, you order will be shipped via USPS. If you are a partner, your order will be shipped by the best available freight including FedEx, UPS, or USPS. When selecting the method we take the following criteria into consideration: cost, shipping deadlines, and reliability of service. For partners, we can usually ship with any particular carrier upon request by partner. ButtonStar pays half of cost of shipping and handling of buttons sent to Partners.

How do you handle billing?

We accept checks, checks-by-phone, and credit and debit cards - Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Payment must be received before the production of buttons can start. Special arrangements are available for fundraisers conducted with school organizations or with the approval of the Athletic Director or other school official. If you are conducting a fundraiser with us, be sure to collect your money when you take orders for the personalized buttons. This way you can use some of the money to pay for your buttons when you make your order.
